Red Wine 

Red Wine isn't jus red wine.

 

 Red wine contains ten times more pigments than white wine and these pigments are found in the skin of the black grapes. Thin-skinned grapes contain less pigments, so to obtain red wine with a deep, dark, red color, we need thick-skinned grapes, and it’s important that these grapes are well- ripened too, so the color can reach its full potential. 

Some examples of light, young, red wine with a fruity touch: Beaujolais, Dolcetto, Barolino and Valpolicella. If you’re looking for a red variety with a silky texture and elegant, spicy aromas, you can choose between red Bourgogne, Brunello, Montalcino, and Chianti Classico. The more powerful and velvety varieties are: Pomerol, Saint-Emilion, and a lot of wines from the New World. 

If you want a powerful red wine, with full tannins and complex aromas, ranging from spices and coffee to tobacco, leather and smoke, you can try red bordeaux, Hermitage, Cote-Rotie, Madiran, Bandol, Rioja, Australian Shiraz, Barolo, Barbaresco, and the best wines from Languedoc-Roussillon.
